Make Jesus Famous
Getting Started
1. Tell 15 people/friends about MJF on your Facebook page!
Now you've registered with Make Jesus Famous your first act can be to spread the word throughout your social networks. Tell your friends that we want to see how they plan to Make Jesus Famous, send them the www.makejesusfamous.org.uk link … and ask them to tell another 15 friends, and so on. Congratulations - you're off and running!
2. Organise a 15-minute prayer session at your school, Uni or workplace
Prayer is vital to every part of Christian life. Once you're established you can tell others that you are open to prayer requests. Don't forget to pray that Make Jesus Famous will do exactly what it says! See the Daily Prayer and Post a Prayer areas at: www.rejesus.co.uk for more ideas on how to pray.
3. Post a film about Jesus on YouTube
There's nothing like a short film to engage with people's emotions and imaginations. Let your creativity shine and Make Jesus Famous by uploading your work to the site that the whole world watches. Click on www.youtube.com and search 'Jesus' to see examples of what's already there.
4. Write about Jesus and your faith
The Bible shows that you can never underestimate the importance of the written word. If you're in a band: write a song. If you're a fan of verse: write a poem. Maybe your church newsletter or local newspaper would welcome a short article about the difference Jesus makes in your life, including an introduction to the Make Jesus Famous campaign.
5. Organise a flash mob
Encourage people on your social network to join you for a prayer walk of the neighbourhood. If your friends are spread around the country, you could arrange for a date and time when they too can be engaged in the same group activity as you, whatever it is.
6. Interview you local vicar
Ask for 15 minutes of his or her valuable time, and get them to tell you how their church aims to Make Jesus Famous. This could make a good article for the church newsletter or local newspaper, as per idea number 4. Above all, it's a great way for you and your church to publicise their part in the campaign.
7. Get your class, group, colleagues to design their 'Face of Jesus'
[Remember, the Face can be a drawing, painting, collage, cartoon or photo. You could even arrange a Face of Jesus exhibition! Make sure everyone who has designed a Face of Jesus uploads that design to their Facebook or Bebo page. Then they can encourage their friends to do likewise. See the Faces of Jesus area at: www.rejesus.co.uk to get you started.
