UCCF have created another great video... Every-day meetings can be more siginificant than we think. Alex Banfield-Hicks shares a couple of stories and challenges us to reach the students of the world on our own campuses.

We want to be people generous in world mission, endeavouring to give and send so as to reach the students of the world.

You can watch all the videos we've put up here: http://www.uccf.org.uk/cu-people/global-people.htm

AOKSoul Action: AOK Day!

Soul Survivor have a great initiative called AOK Day...Act of Kindness Day is every Friday!

It's the little things that make all the difference isn't it? It's obvious someone cares for you when they take the time to ask how you are, to offer you a drink or to sincerely listen to what you have to say.
Each week they have a different mission, this week it's to do something nice for your youth leader or church leader (but don't let them know it was you)!
Go to their website www.soulaction.org/aokday to get a different mission each week and read other people's stories.

Jesus and the AOK Revolution
Jesus got it. He did some amazing big things, like feeding thousands, healing the sick and preaching to masses of people about God's Kingdom.

But he wasn't just about the up front stuff. He went out his way to do the little things... the compassionate and kind things. And he did all this not in a blaze of glory, but when no-one was really looking. Chatting to a socially outcast woman at a well, eating with those the rest of society hated or just caring enough to notice, he lived his life as an act of kindness to others.

That's what AOK Day is all about. Doing the simple things, having a laugh, but also sincerely caring for others, following Jesus. example and making a difference, no matter how small.

Now a Christian

nowachristianChurch Army has launched a brand new email-based course for people who are new Christians or are interested in finding out what Christianity is all about. Better still, it's something they can do from the comfort of their own homes. Now a Christian involves a FREE email everyday for five weeks with a link to an interactive website on the fourth day of each week. This is a great resource to recommend to your friends who want to delve a little deeper into what it means to have a relationship with Jesus.

You can watch this short film to find out a bit more about it on the website www.nowachristian.org

Where is your God?

This poem is a reflection on the repeated refrain 'Where is your God?' in Psalm 42, read in the context of contemporary urban life. Use this video as an introduction to a talk on Psalm 42, or a reflection on God's presence in the world. Visit the UCCF website for more great resources like this one.

The Good Samaritan

Take a look at this interesting animation, based on the story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37), courtesy of UCCF. You could play this video at the start of a talk on social action. If you're a university student and want some information about Christian Unions, check out their website at www.uccf.org.uk.

xploreXplore - a global gap-year programme for 18-25 year-olds, run by Church Army.

On 2 November 2009 Archbishop Desmond Tutu, the President of Church Army, officially launched the Xplore programme in Sheffield. He said: "Young people are going off on Xplore and they are changed, and coming back really wanting to change the world. And it is mostly young people at the heart of change in the world today. I root for young people - you are fantastic! Don't allow yourselves to be infected with the cynicisms of oldies like us. Believe that you can make this world a much, much better place and I know you will succeed...God depends on you!"

Check out the Xplore website where you can read the full story, watch a film and see photos of the guys currently on the programme.
